BREAKING NEWS: Congressman Linder not running for re-election Congressman Linder shocked over 100 people at the Gwinnett GOP office grand opening this morning with the announcement that he would not be seeking re-election.  Linder has served Gwinnett County since he first took office in 1992. A large number of candidates are expected to jump in the race to replace Linder.  Initial speculation of possible candidates are State Rep. Clay Cox, State Rep. Donna Sheldon, State Rep. Mike Coan, State Sen. Don Balfour and State Sen. David Shafer.   GBC has just learned that a newly rumored candidate is Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway.  Conway has recently gained national attention through his efforts to battle illegal immigration with his implementation of 287g and is sure to be a formidable candidate for the open seat.
