Above: Candidates present at the beginning of the event:
Steve Ramey
, candidate for House District 103
Joe Anderson, Senate seat 9 - Valerie Clark, House District 104

Steve Ramey,  for House District 103 speaks first.

Ramey, who is a native of Buford, GA, says that Gwinnett has become a hub for drug trafficking and this must stop. He is against amnesty for illegal's. He will vote for English only as our official language. Immigrants must assimilate into our state and into our language. Border states must have secure borders with no anchor babies for automatic citizenship. He is VERY pro-life and for creating jobs for Georgia. He believes that property taxes are immoral. Consumption tax is the preferred way to go.  His strong belief that our country must get back to original meaning of our constitution permeates his platform. He believes that water is our states right. Federal government should not come in and tell us what we can do and not do. On transportation he believes that we must get the cars around the city rapidly and must give the outer perimeter another look. We must keep big trucks out of the perimeter.

Valerie Clark, candidate for House District 104

Clark is a retired teacher and principal in Gwinnett County. She emphasizes that we must bring quality jobs to Gwinnett which is suffering from a huge lack of jobs. Transportation problems in our county and state are critical and must find relief with more east and west routes.  Education: We have one of the best education systems in the state here in Gwinnett and do not need to throw more money at it in order to see improvement.  We need to find out what works and what does not work.  Constitution: Teach our kids a love for our country and our constitution as written by the original authors. Immigration: She supports legal immigration but not illegal.  She supports our sheriff's department and ICE. Control of our borders is critical. Over taxation is killing us here.  She favors Zero Base Budgeting, and we must get rid of wasteful spending.  She opposes privatizing Briscoe Field.

Joe Anderson, candidate for Senate seat 9.

Anderson says that he is a constitutional conservative Republican with a side of Libertarian and a cup of tea
. Among other jobs, Anderson has served on the City Council of Snellville. He opposes the Georgia Power bill sponsored by his opponent, Don Balfour. This bill will raise power bills of individuals, but big business is excluded from this bill. He notes that Clark Howard says it stinks. He states that HPV vaccine Gardasil Bill for 12 year old females has risks which he opposes. Immigration: He points out that there are more illegal workers in Georgia than in Arizona. He says that SB 460 would have held business accountable for documentation of workers which he favored. We need growth but we need jobs for Georgians -- not illegals. "If you will vote for me, I will work for you to keep government out of your health care business."

Travis Bowden, candidate for Senate seat 9

According to Bowen, CDC reports that 49 females have died because of Gardasil. He states that the State of Georgia has no business mandating that girls must take this vaccination.  He says that Balfour took money from that company and then wrote the bill. He says that he is 28 and has no children at this time.  Jobs:  We must bring small business back to Gwinnett -- especially the Hw. 78 area. We must not ignore this problem. Lilburn has never had a state senator.  Transportation alternatives are very much needed. Immigration: 287G has really helped.  Georgia should be the first state to have 287G state wide. Cut Government Waste: We cannot wall off Lilburn area.  We need to implement Zero Base Budgeting and get back on track.  Fair Tax should be implemented at the state level first.
Travis is a small businessman from Lilburn running as a Republican for Georgia State Senate District 9. He is Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-Small Business and Pro-Second Amendment. He is also a proud graduate of Parkview High School and Georgia State University
