Dear Diary

Tuesday, August 31, was filled with so many wonderful events that it was impossible to participate in all of them. The highlight of the afternoon was the Governor's Tribute to the Georgia Delegation at the Lighthouse at picturesque Chelsea Piers. Governor and Mary Perdue were delightful hosts, and the entire delegation was treated to delicious food, drink, speeches, fun and fellowship in a memorable setting with panoramic views of the shoreline of New York City.

      New York's Finest

Officer Lefebvre of the  NYPD was the wonderful policeman assigned to our bus this evening. He gave us some updates on the protesters, traffic problems, the injured policeman and other interesting local information.

All of the Georgia delegation sends a big THANK YOU! to the NYPD -- they are the best!

The officer's many ribbons and
badges include the WTC  badge
which indicates that he worked
the World Trade Center
catastrophe on 9-11.
