Dear DiaryCan you believe that it is already Thursday and the final day of the convention?
Highlights of Wednesday's Events --

Delegates were treated to a delicious breakfast at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel -- our convention home.
Our GA GOP Chairman Alec Poitevint briefed us on the current business of the day including the delegation group photo.

many favorite hymns and patriotic

Wednesday Night at the Convention - September 1, 2004Day 3 -- Theme of the Evening: A Land of Opportunity
The moving speech by Michael Reagan and the Reagan Tribute video was unforgettable and should
be included among our precious memories of the great Ronald Reagan.
Some of the great speakers of the evening were Senator Rick Santorum (PA) - Senator Mitch McConnell (KY) - The Honorable Elaine Chao - Representative Rob Portman (OH) - Lurita Doan (VA) and Patricia Stout (TX) - Representative Paul Ryan (WI) - Michael Reagan and Tribute to President Ronald Reagan | Speech | - Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey (MA) - Governor Mitt Romney (MA) | Speech |Keynote Address - Sen. Zell Miller (D-GA) | Speech | Biography |
Mrs. Lynne Cheney Text - Vice President Dick Cheney | Text | Biography |
One of the favorite music artists of the evening was Sara Evans. Our own Zell Miller delivered his stem-winder speech similar to the one he gave at our State Convention last May. Zell received many standing ovations from the delegates, alternates and guests.

10th District Delegates and Alternates have photo made in lobby of Ritz Carlton Hotel just before the Thursday evening finale of the GOP Convention. Left to right: Jill and Chip Pearson, Doug Grammer, Judy Grammer, Wesley Clark, Bettye Chambers, and Ben Satterfield. Chuck Payne and Reva Jennings were not available for photo.
Georgia's Delegates and Alternates are pumped up about the final session of the convention tonight at 7:30 p.m. where we shall have the opportunity to witness up close President Bush's acceptance speech. During this evening session tonight thousands of Convention Watch Parties for the President will be going on across the U.S. Republicans are truly united in our goal to relect this great man to continue as President for FOUR MORE YEARS!
Michael Allegrett from the GOP convention web site has just told us that the GOP Convention site will stay up for 15 days after the convention ends. When we return to Georgia on Friday, I shall post these diary pages on several Georgia Republican web sites where we shall be able to add more photos. If any of the GA delegates and alternates have some really great photos which you would like to contribute to these pages, please send them to me via e-mail. Rick Richardson at the GA GOP Headquarters will be sending e-mails to Georgia Delegates and Alternates about this later today. We have just been told that there are network problems which are prohibiting the postings of Wednesday's entries. Hopefully, this will be cleared up soon.
Thanks so much for visiting our Georgia Daily Diary pages during this wonderful week.
