Thursday Night Finale

Dear Diary

The big night is finally here, and we are excited to hear New York Governor George Pataki introduce President Bush who will make his long awaited acceptance speech before the overflow crowd of delegates, alternates, guests and zillions of media people at the Garden. Delegates are dressed in their finest and the atmosphere is electrifying as we await the arrival of President Bush. Tonight the audience stops their ceaseless mulling around the hall and actually listen intently to the proceedings. American flags, signs and symbols of patriotism abound -- even more than on previous nights.

Chants of the evening included Four More Years - Flip Flop (when the president pointed out Kerry's many position changes) and  USA.  After the balloon drop was over, the funniest chant came from our alternate delegate section which was located next to the CNN booth. Spreading quickly to the entire arena was the chant, "Watch Fox News!"  The CNN people did not look very happy with us.

Thanks so much for visiting our Georgia Daily Diary pages during this wonderful week. It was well worth the expense, time, and energy. If any of the GA delegates and alternates have some really great photos which would be appropriate for these pages, please send them to me via e-mail. We shall post ASAP. Please resize pictures and include captions and dates.

Many thanks to Michael Allegretti of the national convention staff who worked with us in the posting  of these diaries to www.gopconvention.com each day. Also, thanks to our GA GOP staff including our Chairman Alec Poitevint, Scott Ryals, Paul Bennecke, Marty Klein, Sue Everhart, Rick Richardson, Linda Herren, Carolyn Meadows and all of the staff who worked to make the experience so very special. A special thanks to Ann Printon of Rudy Giuliani's office. She was the Ambassador from New York assigned to the Georgia delegation.

Now. . . let's all get out and work to insure that our President is reelected!  See you on the campaign trail.

FOUR MORE YEARS!
